When we want to eat light and healthy, without neglecting the good taste and a certain “sweet” touch, we usually turn to salads. These are very easy dishes to prepare and, depending on the ingredients that we put in them, they will satisfy the appetite to a greater or lesser extent.

In this salad, the sweet touch is provided by the grapes and the apple. Although it can be enhanced a little more with a dressing that contains honey, for example. The key is not to indulge in excesses. 

Classic apple and grape salad

The first grape and apple salad that we propose has the perfect balance between sweet and salty that we are looking for for lunch or dinner. We can also enjoy it as a starter or as a garnish.

Ingredients (8 servings)

For the salad

  • 1 pear
  • 1 stalk of celery (30 g).
  • ½ cup of almonds (50 g).
  • 2 cups of grapes (200 g).
  • ½ cup of chopped walnuts (50 g).
  • 4 red or green apples (or it can be 2 and 2).

For the dressing

  • The juice of ½ lemon.
  • 5 tablespoons of brown sugar (50 g).
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon (2.5 g).
  • 2 tablespoons and a half of mayonnaise (25 g).
  • 1 cup of plain or skimmed vanilla yogurt (125 g).

Preparation

  • In a container, place all the ingredients of the dressing and, with the help of a spoon, stir several times until they are completely integrated. We take it to the fridge to cool down and settle.
  • Meanwhile, we cut the fruits into small cubes. It is not necessary to remove the skin.
  • We cut the celery into thin and small slices.
  • In another container, we place the celery and fruits together with the almonds and walnuts.
  • Remove the dressing from the fridge and drizzle it over the salad.

Grape and apple salad with pecans

This variant shares the two main ingredients but incorporates others in order to obtain a salad with a bittersweet touch. 

Pecans are a type of nut.

Ingredients

  • 2 red apples.
  • 2 cups of grapes (200 g).
  • ¼ cup of pecans (25 g).
  • 2 tablespoons of light mayonnaise (20 g).
  • 1/4 cup of chopped chives (25 g).
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt, plain or vanilla skimmed (100 g).

Preparation

  • We wash and drain the fruits well.
  • We cut the apples into wedges and the grapes in half.
  • Cut the celery into cubes and the chives into rings.
  • Apart, we chop the walnuts. We booked.
  • In a bowl, mix the yogurt with the mayonnaise, chives and celery.
  • We add the dressing and stir everything.

Grape and apple salad with cheese

Ingredients

For the salad

  • 1 lettuce.
  • 1 apple.
  • 2 cups of grapes (200 g).
  • 1 avocado (40 g).
  • The juice of 1/2 lemon.
  • 1 handful of walnuts (10-15 g).
  • ½ cup of red onion (50 g).
  • Optional: canons.

For the dressing

  • Salt and pepper to taste).
  • 3 tablespoons of fig jam (30 g).
  • 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil (50 g).
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar or balsamic vinegar of Modena (10 g).

Preparation

  • First we prepare the vinaigrette. Once ready, we reserve it in the fridge.
  • We clean and cut the lettuce into julienne.
  • We cut the grapes in half and put them in the salad bowl.
  • Peel the onion and cut it into julienne strips. Then, we place it in a cup of cold water for 20 minutes to soften it.
  • We cut the avocado in quarters and then we cut it again into thin slices.
  • We cut the apple, remove the core and cut it into julienne strips.
  • We place the apple with the avocado in a container and sprinkle them with a little lemon juice so that they do not oxidize.
  • Add the previous mixture to the salad bowl with the lettuce and grapes.
  • We add the chopped walnuts.
  • Finally, we season with the vinaigrette and serve.
